Ola To Introduce Its First Electric Scooter In India & International Markets In January
The report adds with the company looking to tap into Indian two wheeler market, it expects to sell as many as a million units within the first year. Ola Electric, which is setting up what it calls “the world’s largest two-wheeler mega-factory on its 500-acre site” in Tamil Nadu, has revealed teaser images of its electric scooter.
So you know how the Indian EV market is slowly but gradually picking up pace? This has been especially evident in the context of electric two-wheelers, which have been at the forefront of the EV revolution in India. And if new reports are to be believed, we have yet another familiar name bracing to throw its hat in the ring — Ola. Yep, according to a PTI report, the ride hailing company will bring in its first ever electric vehicle, an electric scooter, in January 2021. What’s even more interesting is that the electric scooter will reportedly manufactured at a Netherlands-based facility — at least at first.
While Ola has refused to share any comments about the reports, word has it that the aforementioned upcoming electric scooter will be offered for retail not only in India, but Europe as well.

Ola’s first electric scooter looks similar to the state-of-the-art, tech-laden Etergo Appscooter. It is likely that the made-in-Tamil Nadu Ola EV will have changes made for the Indian market and also to keep costs low. Dimensions
